FAQ's

1. Do I need a referral from my doctor?
In the States of Texas, you may access physical therapy services without a physician referral for up to 15 business days. This means to continue treatment a physician referral or a signed plan of care must be received in order to extend treatment beyond the 15 days. After your initial visit, your physical therapist will send the evaluation and plan of care to your provider (Primary care physician, OB/GYN, midwife, or Chiropractor). Your provider should sign the plan of care in acknowledgement of your physical therapy treatment to allow the continuation of your services beyond the direct access guidelines.

2. Do you accept insurance?
Alpha Mama PT & Wellness is an out of network provider. Being out of network allows us to provide the utmost quality of care in an unmatched one on one setting with each of our patients. Most importantly it eliminates any restrictions insurances would place upon your care. We will gladly provide you with a superbill for each visit so you may seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Seeking and obtaining reimbursement for services is the sole responsibility of the patient. FSA/HSA is accepted. We are a TRICARE-Certified provider.

3. What can I expect during my visits?
Physical therapy and wellness sessions are 60 minutes. Initial evaluations are meant to thoroughly discuss your history, your goals for treatment, provide a comprehensive examination including functional movement, internal/external pelvic floor muscle assessment, answer any questions you may have, and develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to you and your goals. Follow up sessions will review current complaints or areas of concern, re-examination of mobility/ROM, provide treatment, and progress/update exercise program.

4. What should I wear to my appointments?

5. How many sessions will I need?
Great question! Each patient and their rehab time-frame will greatly differ as we consider all factors that may be influencing your symptoms and overall recovery.
