Dr. Lysette Steed PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

Dr. Lysette Steed, founder of Alpha Mama PT & Wellness, is a physical therapist with over 10 years of experience in orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2011, she completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Texas State University in 2014. Following her graduation, Dr. Lysette pursued advanced clinical training in musculoskeletal orthopedic disorders, specializing in manual therapy. In 2017, she earned her certification as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

During this time, Dr. Lysette welcomed her oldest daughter. Navigating her own postpartum recovery, she experienced firsthand the lack of support and guidance from healthcare providers, with her symptoms often dismissed as "normal." This experience ignited her passion to transform care for those with pelvic pain and to better support clients during pregnancy and postpartum. She subsequently pursued additional training in pelvic health, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Pelvic Health section.

Dr. Lysette has furthered her expertise with a certification in Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism, as well as becoming a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES). She is also certified in the Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete: Pregnancy & Postpartum and holds a NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist certification, focusing on the fitness athlete.

Dr. Lysette brings a compassionate and holistic approach to her practice. She believes in treating each patient as a whole, addressing all aspects that may influence their symptoms or recovery, and working together as a team to achieve the best outcomes. Her faith inspires her to provide care that is both empowering and empathetic, helping her clients feel supported throughout their journeys.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lysette enjoys lifting heavy weights, boot camp workouts, running, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
