Lysette Steed, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, PCES
Alpha Mama PT & Wellness was founded by ortho/pelvic health physical therapist Dr. Lysette Steed. She received her bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science in 2011 and doctorate in physical therapy from Texas State University in 2014. Upon graduating she completed advanced clinical training in musculoskeletal orthopedic disorders with expertise in manual therapy receiving her certification as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2017. During this time, Dr. Steed delivered her first baby girl. Dealing with symptoms during her postpartum recovery, she didn't feel there was any support or guidance from her providers and symptoms were always brushed off as "normal". This lit a fire in her heart to change the care for people with pelvic pain and how we support our clients during pregnancy and postpartum. She went on to pursue additional training in pelvic health, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. Her education and training is through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Pelvic Health. She has also completed a coaching certification in Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism, a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES) certification, and certification in the Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete: Pregnancy & Postpartum. Additionally, Lysette is a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Performance Enhancement Specalist for the fitness athlete.
Lysette is passionate about treating each patient as a whole, understanding all variables that may influence their symptoms or recovery, and partnering as a team to develop the best outcomes to reach their goals.
Lysette loves lifting heavy weights, boot camp workouts, running, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
